Tonight, God

hour one: I am staying up with God tonight. I try and find a place to start with Him. I try and find inspiration from something, anything that will spark a fire in my spirit to move me forward, then like a revelation from captain obvious God shows me " I am your inspiration". I begin to listen to some music and play my guitar, and all of a sudden, with out pretence, I begin to pray. It is not a normal prayer, with words or actions, nor am I speaking in tongues, but with my heart. It was like my heart was talking to God, not my mind, my heart. It's hard to explain even harder to understand (is that makes sense).

hour two: I continue with my praise, listening to "Wonderful King" by David Crowder, trying to find little details that speak to me musically as well as spiritually. I also start playing around with "Wonderful Cross", "My Drink", and "All the Earth". Then I decide to catalog the evening on xanga, why, I don't know, when a scripture Brian gave to me was brought to my mind, Psalm 37:4,5. Amazing, and not that watered down kind of amazing, but the truly big, truly appropriate, AMAZING. I started with just the two verses, because "I knew they talked about committing your life to God, and Him giving you the desires of your heart, but I decided to read all of chapter 37..... WOW..... and again I say ....... WOW. It speaks of Gods love for you as a christian, as a believer. It takes what he did on the cross a few steps further, amazingly enough He takes His cross and says not only will I save you, not only will I protect you, not only will I give you MY righteousness, not only will I give you the desires of your heart(which is unbelievable in itself), but as verse six says, "He shall bring forth YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS as the light and your justice as the noonday" WHAT repeat that please MY righteousness???? It was His, He gave it to me on the cross, but He just called it MY righteousness......I'm .....this gift isn't just what he gave me, it is what I now am, this righteousness is mine.......not because I say or think, or anything else, but because He chose, instead of saying bring forth the righteousness which I gave to you freely, He said "bring forth OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" I am so humbled right now, I can't even begin to talk about the significance of what the rest of that verse mean, I think if I tried I would short circuit. Psalm 37 also talks about how, while you are committing your ways to Him, He basically puts you on this pedestal, and says"hey look every body this is my child, I am so proud of him" So we don't have to concern our selves with what our enemies are doing, whether or not they are prospering while it seems you aren't, whether they are talking about you, because, you are Gods child and as long as you trust in Him and follow after Him, your inheritance is everlasting, and their prosperity will fade. It also says you not be forsaken, and that even when you fall you won't go far, and He will rescue you. Like I said AMAZING.

hour three: I spent just a little time trying to find some songs from either DCB or RSB, but no luck. I think one of things that God has shown me tonight is that we really don't have eat on bread alone, if we don't want to, , but by the very word of God. Which I think has several layers to it's meaning. Of course it's talking about the bible, writing it on your heart meditating on it, but it is also talking about the "very word of God" John 1:1 tells us that is Christ, He IS the word of God. I think when you combine the two one of the ways to "eat" the word of God kinda means to read, trust, but the most underrated, understated, underused, and misused is prayer. The very act of talking to God. Tonight, God.... has shown me that if nothing else He just simply wants to talk and hang out with my from time to time, and I have to admit it was kinda nice. so maybe we should all from time to time... Tonight, God.

             GOOD NIGHT!!!

One of the life goals of humanity is to define life itself right? This brought to mind a quote that most hold true "I think therefore I am". To examine this we have to first look at out goal, to define life, well we must first ask " how do we define something, or what is a definition?" Well that is an easy one it is simply an explanation of a thing. There are some boundaries when defining something, we will only look at one for them. You cannot  use something to define itself. You can't use a word to define that same word. If you use that principle and apply it to the phrase, "I think therefore I am", you will see that that phrase can't be accurate. If one thinks and that is the sole reason one exists then you are using ones self to define itself, which is impossible. You must use an something outside the thing( or person) to describe what it is. So, what is life? how do we know we exist? What is outside of us that we can use as a catalyst to describe who, what, why, and that we are?u
Well you could look at nature and say that nature revolves around us and our need to we must exist, but there is an even better belief. He is therefore We are. We are only small imperfect version of God ( for he created us in His image) Before we except Him as our lord and savior we have no meaning, no definition. Once we do except Him then He becomes the thing that defines who we are, what we are , how we are and why we are.

Forgetfulness

Today we are afforded many luxuries, color TV, HDTV, cable, satellite, high speed internet, cars, music, computers, but something is amiss. In all this we forgotten the weak, and the poor. We have forgotten what it took to bring us to this place in life. I think "forgetfulness" is a disease that plagues the United States, the plagues Christians.

When we talk about a war we don't like, a president that we make fun of, we forget about four plane crashes. We forget two buildings falling. We forget. Forgetfulness to me is a way to put up walls, or to chicken out, or maybe to cop out, but what it isn't is respect, honor, love, patriotic. We stop thinking about lives lost, and pain gained. Tonight I watched a really horrible movie, bad acting, visual effects, your normal low budget made for T  film, but something was different about this movie. It made me remember. Although it had unbelievable acting and a script that, well almost anyone could write, it made me cry, no wait ball my stinkin eyes out. It made me think about family, about doing what ever it takes to get the job done.

Now, as you have already figured, the movie was about 9/11, more specifically flight 93(the flight the missed its target because of some passengers who did whatever it took). At the end of the movie right before the passenger attacked the hijacker one of the guys, who called his work on the phone, had the women he was speaking to pray the lords prayer, and it got me thinking about something else we forget. Our christian lives move forward, and we sometimes forget how we got to where we are. We start complain about various pretentious topics that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. The nails, the blood, the thorns, the beating, those things we, here is come AGAIN, forget. We forget, words like" Father let this cup pass, but not as I will but Your will be done" Forgetfulness is a disease that plagues this country, but even more horrific is that it plagues our christian faith.

So what will you do when it comes time to make a choice? Will you forget? Or will you remember?
